Terms of service
Last updated: 30 October 2026
By using IRIS you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.
The service
IRIS gives account holders a mailbox, and gives anyone a free temporary address that can receive mail for 1 hour. Temporary addresses are receive-only and everything in them is deleted when they expire. Don’t use them for anything you need to keep, or for sensitive information.
Acceptable use
You must not use IRIS to:
- break the law, or help anyone else do so;
- create accounts elsewhere at scale, commit sign-up or promotion fraud, or get around another service’s limits or bans;
- send or receive malware, or attack, probe or overload IRIS or anyone else;
- harass, threaten or impersonate other people.
We may block addresses, networks or accounts that break these rules.
Limits
- Up to 10 temporary addresses per network per hour, and 3 active at a time per browser.
- Messages up to 25 MB.
Availability
We work to keep IRIS running, but it is provided “as is”, without guarantees of availability or that mail will never be delayed or lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continuing to use IRIS after a change means you accept it.
